Brief Overview

  • Located in Yamuna Valley in Uttarkashi region of Uttarakhand, India; nearest towns are Mori and Purola which are 22 & 55 km respectively from Sankri

  • In this relatively unexplored trek in the scenic regions of Garhwal, you will tread through the remote villages in the valleys of Rupin and Supin and get accustomed with the natives (villagers) & their way of living

  • Wander adjacent to Rupin river within the extremities of Govind Pashu Vihar Wildlife Sanctuary which will be an enjoyable episode at every step and turn

  • Rupin Supin is known for its untainted Himalayan nirvana. As you traverse through the valleys over high ridges you can admire the elegance of mighty Himalayan peaks

  • The gorgeous landscape and exquisite view of snow capped mountains will leave you spellbound. Witness a sacred lake which is very popular amongst the locals and wondrous in its own way

  • Best time to visit is between Apr – June & mid Sep – Dec

  • Last ATM points are available in Mori, Purola and Dehradun


  • Day 1 - Pick-up from Dehradun Railway Station (6:30 AM), drive to Himari/ Dhaula by taxi – 210 km drive

  • Day 2 - Trek to Sarutal from Himari camp – 7 km (5/6 hrs)

  • Day 3 - Trek to Badang from Sarutal – 8 km (5/6 hrs)

  • Day 4 - Trek to Pachi Thach from Badang, crossing Vijay top – 12 km (7 hrs)

  • Day 5 - Trek to Bada Thach from Pachi Thach – 5 km (4/5 hrs)

  • Day 6 - Trek to Fhitari village (Jakhol) from Bada Thach then drive to Sankri for night stay at hotel – 9 km trek (5 hrs)/ 20 km drive (8/9 hrs)

  • Day 7 - After breakfast, drive to Dehradun from Sankri – 210 km

Overnight bus to ISBT, Dehradun from ISBT, Kashmere Gate, Delhi (see bus chart)
Suggestion: To take Uttarakhand Govt. buses from Delhi ISBT as they are punctual and quicker to reach than Pvt. Buses. They will drop you at Dehradun ISBT which is 6 km from Railway Station

  • Smoking cigarettes makes you lethargic & can potentially shortened your breath during the trek, we recommend not to smoke for your own good

  • Drinking alcohol is not allowed since it results in dehydration and can cause AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness), it eventually reduces the oxygen level from the body

  • Buying drugs or any illegal material is strictly prohibited
